Numerous high school students throughout America labor tirelessly to achieve their highest level of academic excellence as they also strive to attain athletic distinction through hard work, experience, patience, and focused performance principles. MVA 11th grader and Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy student George Qian exemplifies someone who has succeeded in reaching such echelons of success through his dedicated undertakings as a junior golfer, MVA student, and most recently by scoring in the top one percent countrywide on the his ACT nationwide standardized college admissions test. Qian was born and raised in China before moving to Iowa and eventually to Florida where his collective life experiences gained through traveling and relocating internationally required cultural awareness, discipline and concentration – qualities that help to make George an outstanding MVA student and GGGA junior golfer. In a recent GGGA website post Qian's GGGA coach, Mr. Bryan Van der Riet, commented, "George is the type of kid where if you give him something to work on, he's going to do it. He knows what he wants, and he works hard to get it. I would without a doubt give a great recommendation on George to Stanford or any college." MVA congratulates George Qian on his recent ACT scores and his commitment to success as a MVA student athlete.
