Montverde Academy Boys' Outstanding Leadership Development (BOLD) conference took place inside the Duncan Student Center on Monday, May 7, 2012. The session aimed to offer support and suggestions to male MVA students through scholarly counseling and general advice concerning the roles that personal responsibility, leadership, and individual empowerment play in creating the goals needed to prepare and transition between school-grades. MVA Upper-school teacher Mindy Hopman reports to Montverde.net that the 2012 GOLD (Girls' Overnight Leadership Development) program occurred last Friday night inside the Duncan Student Center. Middle School NTC Track and Field Meet a Success

On Friday, February 24, the Middle School division participated in the annual NTC Track and Field Event in Clermont. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders competed extremely well throughout the day. With seven school involved in the competition, the girls and boys at all three grade levels represented themselves, their coach, and the Academy in fine fashion. Making music can be a wonderfully fun experience and many research findings have overwhelmingly determined that the study of music positively impacts those student's standardized academic tests/college admissions testing more so than students who didn't participate in music-arts related activities. Involvement in the creative process of learning to play music improves cognitive skills, self-esteem, personal focus, and discipline of students.
