MVA Lower-school to Hold Grandparent’s Day this Friday

20120216 GrandparentsDay 330x

A Child needs a grandparent, anybody's grandparent, to grow a little more securely into an unfamiliar world.
– Charles and Ann Morse

Montverde Academy's Lower-school is celebrating the importance of Grandparents by holding a "Grandparents Day" this Friday, February 17, 2012, from 7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Special events have been scheduled that include an 8:30a.m. - 9:15 a.m. classroom visit session, a refreshments gathering in the Student Center between 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., and a 2nd-5th grader performance of vocal selections from their upcoming spring musicals inside the Sandra O. Stephens Fine Arts building auditorium from 10:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. After the choral presentation, there will be a closing address from Headmaster Dr. Kasey Kesselring from 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. If you have any questions regarding Grandparents Day, or any of its timetabled events, please contact Ms. Brandi Bridges, Assistant to the Dean of Institutional Advancement. *Mr. Brad Long, MVA Business Manager and Director of Maintenance, has informed Montverde.net that "The Academy is expecting a large amount of Grandparents and parking will need to be adjusted for this event. For faculty and staff that park in the interior loop of the campus, the McQuaig Gym lot, and the stone lot off Academy Lane will need to park behind Arnold and Carpenter Hall. The entrance to this area is located off Porter Avenue by the Equestrian Center. Please do not park on the Basketball Courts - the grass area that is behind the dorms will be fine. The students that usually park in the stone lot will be parking on the old baseball field."

Together, let us all help commemorate the value and significance of our Lower-school MVA grandparents by welcoming their visit to our wonderful campus this coming Friday for Grandparents Day!
