For any golfer, the ability to effectively focus on the objective at hand is vital to achieving success. Montverde Academy freshman and AJGA member Karen Arimoto exemplifies someone who has placed a special emphasis on focus – concentrating on being both a successful student at Montverde Academy and an effective junior golfer/full-time activity student with the Junior Program of the Gary Gilchrist Golf Association. Montverde.net Reminder: The MVA Upper School Awards Ceremony (an evening of Upper-school awards and special acknowledgements ) will occur tonight – Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Roberts Gymnasium at 7:pm. The event is free and open to MVA parents, students, family and friends. Brad Long, MVA Business Manager, reports to Montverde.net that the new gym parking lot will be open tonight for the event – and also Saturday night after the MVA graduation ceremony.

Montverde Academy girls living in Koivu-Patterson Hall First Floor have had the amazing privileges of participating in some "tasty" group activities on and off campus this month that included a trip to the local Clermont, Florida, restaurant "Golden Corral" as well as being the recipients of a wonderfully home-cooked meal prepared by dorm-parents Mr. Geoff and Tricia Kontz. Montverde.net Reminder:
Wednesday May 16th is JEANS DAY at the lower school. Students may wear jeans, no shorts/cut-offs or ragged jeans, with a MVA polo shirt to school. Basically the standard uniform except for the jeans.
Students must bring $2.00 for the privilege to wear the jeans - the money goes to Dr. Blair's reading camp.
