MVA Girls Varsity Softball Team Wins at Home

Montverde, Fla., Feb. 22, 2012 - MVA Girls Varsity Softball team defeated Ocoee High School by a final score of 5-3 last night in a game played at home simultaneously next to the Boys' Varsity Baseball game with Leesburg High. MVA's spirits were elevated by the challenges of playing what seemed to many in attendance an obviously older Ocoee squad. Nonetheless, Ocoee proved no contest for our Lady Eagles who used sound softball fundamentals and the experienced coaching of Head Coach Bob Pinto and staff for the important instruction to help pull off the convincing win. The Lady Eagles are back in action with a District game February 23, 2012, away against First Academy.

Assistant Lady Eagles softball coach Kelly Golden reports to Montverde.net that our Lady Eagles beat Master’s Academy 1-0 as "The Lady Eagles won their second game of the season last night against Master's Academy! It was a very close game with Montverde winning 1-0. The Lady Eagles scored in the 2nd inning when Alexina Mora hit a double and then Destiny Moye drove her in with a single. Montverde Academy's Lady Eagles' Varsity Softball team played very well this past weekend winning one of two games at the NTC Preseason Classic in Clermont, Florida. In game 1, the Eagles, led by the expert Head Coaching of Bob Pinto and his adept Assistant Head Coaches Lonnie Richardson and Kelly Golden, capitalized on a productive first inning against visiting Lake Highland Prep that featured skillful hitting (and runs batted-in) by Taylor Dotson and Hannah Futo as well as a bases-loaded line-drive from Alexina Mora
