On November 1, 2011, the Montverde Academy Eagles Women's Soccer team took to the field for the first time ever. The MVA community had anticipated this day for a long time and the end result was a stirring victory against Lopez Catholic High School. The final score was 3-0 in favor of our MVA Lady Eagles.
Jaeda Smith recorded the shutout, Jasmine Spence scored two principal goals, and Leticia Martins scored an additionally significant goal while Meghan Emling, Teara Thomas, and Akeyla Fubert all contributed with fine performances in the group's initial win. Robbie Aristodemo, Montverde Academy's gifted Women's Varsity Soccer Coach, commented on the win, "With great support from our faculty and students the girl's and managed to come away with a very strong performance. We played with passion and determination last night - a great effort from everyone who stepped on the field. I am proud of the way our MVA girl's fought and never gave up – a great team win." The next evening, the Lady Eagles Soccer team played the Villages at home on MVA's Eagle's Nest field. Before a mildly cool Wednesday nightfall, the Lady Eagles were in the hunt for another victory and were again triumphant in not allowing their competitors any goals and winning 7-0. Jaeda Smith had another remarkable shut-out and Jasmine Spense had a solid hat-trick to help advance the team record to 2-0.
