According to the latest February 14, 2012, "MaxPreps" (a cbssports.com website) national winter high-school soccer poll, MVA boys' soccer Eagles are ranked number 1 in America! Our Eagles soccer team is also ranked No. 4 in the United States (in matches played through Sunday, February 12th, 2012) according to the most current ESPN POWERADE FAB 50 high school winter soccer rankings. In this poll, ESPN applauded MVA's 2nd consecutive completed undefeated season (23-0-4) under the direction of 2nd year Coach Mike Potempa and Assistant Coach Chuck Monteleone (who both coached last year's undefeated MVA Eagles' 2011 ESPN Boys' National Soccer Champions), stating "Montverde Academy completed a second straight undefeated season, and in the process extended its undefeated streak to a national best 52 matches. The team went 6-0-4 against teams that have appeared in the POWERADE FAB 50.
Six Montverde seniors have committed to NCAA Division I programs: David Graydon, Donte Brangman and Jair Minors to St. Louis University, Joao Ramalho and Henrique Novaes to East Tennessee State, and Luis Fernando Vega to Florida Gulf Coast University. As many as three more players will sign with Division I programs, and one has a chance to bypass college and sign a professional contract. Juan Jose Morales finished with a team-best 32 goals despite sustaining a season-ending injury late in the season. Graydon led the squad with 18 assists. Montverde Academy outscored its opponents 114-12." In yet another nationally recognized poll, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), also ranked the Eagles at the number 4 spot in America – all of these rankings reflect a magnificent team and their very triumphant season.
