MVA Varsity Boys’ Soccer Captures M.A.S.T. Championship 2012!

Montverde Academy Boys' Varsity Soccer Team hosted its first-ever invitational soccer tournament – the M.A.S.T – January 12-14, 2012, at the MVA Athletic Complex. A wonderful experience for soccer fans of all areas and ages, this tournament demonstrated superb high school soccer day after day as loyal friends, fans, and soccer enthusiasts came as far away as Phoenix, Arizona, to cheer for their respective teams. After three days of sensational games played by competing M.A.S.T. teams (and
sometimes hard-earned victories), MVA was crowned M.A.S.T Champions Saturday night after winning three consecutive victories in this most exciting and well-presented high-school soccer tournament. The MVA soccer tournament was comprised of an impressive field of local and national participants that included The Bolles School, Jacksonville, FL; Auburndale High School, Auburndale, FL; American Heritage-Delray, Delray Beach, FL; Brophy College Prep, Phoenix, AZ; Gulfport High School, Gulfport, MS; Tampa Jesuit High School, Tampa, FL; and West Shore High School of Melbourne, FL. Prior to the tournament, the Eagles were joined in their national ESPN POWERADE FAB 50 rankings by M.A.S.T. competitors No. 7 American Heritage-Delray, coming in second at the M.A.S.T., and No. 11 Brophy College Prep coming in third. In the first day of the tournament, our MVA Eagles (21-0-2) conquered West Shore 4-0, then prevailed over Gulfport competing very well in an uncharacteristically cold Friday night before clinching the M.A.S.T. Championship Saturday evening with a 3-1 victory over American Heritage-Delray.
