According to the November 3, 2011, ESPN POWERADE FAB 50 Boys' High School Soccer Preseason Rankings, the Montverde Academy Boys' Soccer team is ranked #1 in the United States of America. Last year's team, under the adept coaching direction of MVA Athletic Director Mike Potempa, was awarded with the POWERADE FAB 50 Winter National Championship and in over-all rankings warded-off annually competitive soccer power-houses such as Brophy Prep from Phoenix, Arizona, and Strake Jesuit College Prep from Houston, Texas - currently ranked #2 and #3 respectively in same poll. This years' team is comprised of a group of conscientious, skillful, and unselfish team-oriented players led by Seniors Donte Brangman and David Graydon who have both committed to St. Louis University. They are joined in their Senior leadership by Henrique Novaes and Joao Ramalho - both committed to East Tennessee State. With superb play from players like Ramalho, a 2010 ESPN Rise Magazine All-America Team member who scored 4 goals in a MVA's 8-0 shut-out of Treasure Coast High School earlier this week, MVA Boys Varsity Soccer looks strong, is undefeated, and back in action tonight Thursday, November 3, 2011, against Melbourne.
