MVA First hosted horse show a huge success

Sara Womack, MVA's Equestrian Center Manager, tells Montverde.net: The MVA Equestrian Team hosted the first horseshow in our Open Breed Spring Series on February 11. This show was a huge success with 80 entries in 21 classes!  Every member of our MVA Equestrian Team is able to participate in this show series regardless of which discipline he/she rides (Walking horses or Hunter/Jumper horses).  Please take a moment to view the results for our team. MVA Junior Kailin Kesselring Awarded World Grand Championship

 

Kailin KesselringMontverde Academy Upper School Junior Kailin Kesselring participated in the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration World Grand Championship show in Shelbyville, Tennessee, August 24 – September 3, 2011.  The event consisted of eleven days of competition comprised of both morning and evening sessions.  Kailin was extremely successful in the owner-amateur-youth riders portion of the competition for ages twelve to seventeen riding on lite shod mares and geldings.  In an undisputed fashion, Kailin won this elite classification, becoming the world champion in this division for this year.

Equestrian team gives a good show

The MVA Hunter/Jumper Team had a successful horseshow this weekend at the FL Carriage Museum.  Horseshows In The Park, LLC had a Kentucky Derby theme on Saturday with a Hat Contest. During the show on Sunday, they held a “Best Horseshow Mom” Contest. This show had exceptional participation both days and we are very proud of our students!

8th Grader Carpenter Competes in Georgia

Fairburn, Georgia Sept. 11, 2011 - Montverde Academy eighth-grader Grace Capenter participated in the Nutrena/USEA American Eventing Championships this past weekend at Chattahoochee Hills in Fairburn, Georgia, September 8-11, 2011.  Grace and her horse Absolut Risk finished 47th out of 67 competitors – a great achievement as this was the first time Grace had competed in the eight year contest that welcomes competitors ranging from novice riders and adult amateurs to more advanced competitors like past Olympians Leslie Law and Karen O’Connor.

Barn gets new addition

new foal 2011His hair is as black as coal and he has a little white star on the top of his head.  When he walks he wobbles alot, but he still manages to get around okay.  He doesn't like the camera or the click of the shutter and the flash.  Why would he? He was just born a few hours ago.

Kesselring takes first at Money

Kailin KesselringMontverde Academy Junior Kailin Kesselring took first place in Youth Show Pleasure Class at the Money Tree Classic horse show in Tennessee recently.  Kesselring, 16, rode her Tennessee Walking Horse Bold Reaction in the competition held at the Agricultural Center in Shelbyville over the July 4th holiday weekend.  The horse was judged on specific gait, shoes, horse's age and rider's age.  Above is a picture of Kesselring riding her horse during the Youth Show class.
