Athlete of the Week: Megan Monteleone

Megan Monteleone was recently selected to the Universal Cheerleaders Association All-American team after her performance at the UCA summer camp held here at Montverde Academy last June. In order to be eligible for the All-American team, athletes must perform on a trial basis and are evaluated by selected instructional staff specific to the UCA. In addition to overall cheerleading ability, UCA looks for those students who stand out as community leaders and first class role models. With her recent selection, Megan will have the opportunity to travel to London, England to participate in the Universal Cheerleaders Association Parade in December. Currently Megan is the captain of the Montverde Academy Varsity cheerleading squad and is also a participant on the Clermont All Stars Senior Team. She is an active volunteer with the Montverde Pop Warner Cheerleading program and serves as a junior coach for those who are just beginning the cheerleading careers.
