Graphic Design. Video and Film Editing. News Reporting. Now is the time to get involved!!
Montverde Academy’s vision for technology-savvy students takes another step toward reality as the school announces its plans to expand the Fine Arts Building.
The school will add an additional 12,000 square feet to the Sandra O. Stephens Fine Arts building to house its video production program. Students will be afforded the opportunity to shoot and edit video, create movable graphics and learn the art of news reporting.
Digital and computer animation is the process used for generating animated or moving images by using computer graphics. Graphics are pictures that fill an entire screen and are used to create images.
Richard Matz Design Associates out of Clermont will design the facilities. The bidding process for construction will be handled by the Academy’s Head of School, Kasey C. Kesselring.
The Fine Arts building expansion will include TV/Video production studios, rehearsal halls for vocal and instrumental music as well as a state-of-the-art media arts computer lab. A new television studio will be planned and will likely be used to produce a future Montverde Academy newscast.
“The expansion to the Fine Arts building is a wonderful addition as it will lend our faculty the opportunity to provide a better learning environment to our students,” added Kesselring. “Digital media, animation and graphic design will allow students to learn technology skills not often found on the secondary school level.”

Contracts for the project will be awarded in May, with groundbreaking set for the Fall.
