The event is sponsored in part by a grant from the South Lake County Community Foundation and presented by MVA Upper-school fine arts students (choir, orchestra, theatre, visual arts, media arts, T.V production), and MVA Lower-school/Middle-School theatre and visual arts. The cost of the event is free and food and beverages will be sold from the portico of the new music and media arts building.
Aubrey Connelly, MVA Fine Arts Department Chair, informs Montverde.net, "The Fine Arts Fest is a chance for all of our Fine Arts students to mingle, show off their skills in performance and displays and learn from invited guest Master Artists. These guests include a caricature artist who will do free caricatures all day for our guests, local Orlando painter and sculptor Parker Sketch, animee artist Amy Lester, and several other artists. There will be live demonstrations of green screen effects and a "host a news cast" experiences as well as scenes and monologues, musical theatre pieces, theatre games, and a session on fight choreography." Invited area choirs will also be participating in morning clinics under the director of renowned, award-winning conductor Dr. John Sinclair. According to the Rollins College web site, "Dr. John V. Sinclair serves as Chair of the Department of Music and is the John M. Tiedtke Professor of Music at Rollins College. He is celebrating his 20th season as Artistic Director and Conductor of the renowned Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, Florida, and is the conductor of the International Moravian Music Festivals. Mr. Connolly is excited about this MVA arts occasion and praises the cooperation from participants in the planning of the upcoming event affirming, "This yearly event is a cooperative venture between all of MVA's fine arts faculty at all three levels, live theatre, demonstrations and displays of visual arts and hands on experiences from our new media arts department. Student art will be on display and several professional Orlando artists will be creating art on the spot. There will be theatre games, folk dancing, and a drumming circle, a concert with MVA students and other regional school choirs, scenes, monologues, and musical theatre performances from Montverde students. The events, including the concert, are all free and students, faculty, staff, and the community are invited."
