MVA Lower School Violin Club Performs at Morning Assembly

For indefinite reasons that have never been appropriately explained, the immortal song "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" has resonated well with individuals throughout many cultures for countless decades in various melodic forms (*click YouTube link for an example). MVA Senior Dawn Grayford's VPA Exhibition

According to MVA Upper-school visual arts teacher Trish O'Donnell, Senior Dawn Grayford "will be presenting her art exhibit, Rise Against, for her final requirement in the VPA program at 3:45 this Friday, May 4, 2012, at 3:45 p.m. and will be giving a ten minute lecture in the Sandra O. Stephens Auditorium about her artwork and then we will proceed to the Rehearsal Hall for refreshments and to view her artwork. She has worked extremely hard and has made some incredible artwork this semester. I am very proud
MVA Choral Departments to Present Concert of “Evita” This Tuesday

MVA's Choral Department will present their concert version of "Evita" - a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice - tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. inside the Sandra O. Stephens Auditorium. The concert will feature soloists of the combined concert choir and select choir and the event is a free public concert. According to Mr. Aubrey Connelly, MVA Fine Arts Department Chair, "Evita concentrates on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, the wife of Argentine president Juan Perón.

The Montverde Academy Fine Arts Department, under the direction of MVA theatre teacher Adian Ahern, will be presenting "Seussical, the Musical" (written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flattery) on April 11-13, 2012 (Wednesday & Thursday at 7:00p.m. and Friday at 8:00 p.m.)
Thespians Obtain “Excellent” Scores at Jr. ITS Competitions

On February 11, 2012, MVA Middle-school students Erin Lafferty, Kevin McDonnell, and Mary Nerad performed in the Florida State Junior International Thespian Society competitions held this year at the Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida. These Montverde Academy students had previously received scores of "Excellent" from judges rating their dramatic presentations at the area district competitions and their stellar ratings at districts allowed the students the opportunity of advancing with other Florida top middle school talent

I grew up in Marion, Ohio. I moved to Florida in 1990 to escape the cold winters of the north and to try something new.

MVA Combined Choirs Perform Well in Winter Springs Music Performance

Montverde Academy combined choirs performed extremely well at the MPA (Music Performance Assessment) competitions held this year by Winter Spring High School located in Winter Springs, Florida, on Friday, March 9, 2012. Aubrey Connelly, MVA's music instructor and Dean of Performing Arts, reports to Montverde.net that our Choral Eagles sang exceptionally and "earned a score of Excellent - Excellent is the second highest score awarded. This was our third time MVA participated in the MPA, although we did not attend the last two years
